With the cozy season underway, it’s a good time to reorganize your wardrobe, declutter and question what new essential clothing items do you need for this cozy season that is all about layering while still being effortlessly chic and stylish. You will find below some rising Tunisian brands that each one of them embraces a different style but all have the same objective, which is to preserve the Tunisian culture by creating modern durable clothing pieces. And who knows, you might find your choux à la crème below.

1. Benma

Benma is a Mediterranean new brand label based in the heart of Tunis. Just as it is entitled to their Instagram“ BENMA DNA is composed of: light, sun, joie de vivre, white, blue, green and tuna beulis eye” And they are true to that. You could see all over their newest collection that the dominant Mediterranean colors and vibes are all over. Through their latest photoshoot with @maftstudios, Benma invited their community to an intimate trip to their creative and colorful world where it still feels like summer and along with a small sneak-a-peak to their Studio situated in Hedi Chaker, Tunis.

2. ÈLBÉ

"ÈLBÉ" is a Paris-Tunis-based brand specialized in accessories designed and manufactured around the Mediterranean Sea. The brand’s name "ÈLBÉ" came from both founders' initials L and B which means in Arabic “my heart”. As they furtherly explained, this heart within an L and B has become the emblem of their brand because it is under the features of a true friendship that this collaboration was built. Elbé is pretty famous for being a multicultural brand embracing different cultures along with producing and crafting sustainable accessories done through a graphic identity of multicultural inspiration and by two minds and four hands.

All of the accessories are created from second-hand materials leftovers that inspire them and then, they would give them the same amount of care and attention as if it was their “first life”.

Èlbé is a delicate and minimalist modern eastern brand inspired by the Mediterranean Sea and that is all about diversity, multiculturalism, sustainability, and limited collections for more responsible and reasonable use.

3. Anissa Aida

Anissa Aida is a designer ready-to-wear fashion brand inspired by the local culture of Tunisia and Anissa Meddeb’s fascination for Japan. The designer knew how to mix between both cultures from using the blue and white colors of the Mediterranean Sea as part of the brand’s identity to having kimonos, Sarouels, Chinese collars, djellabas as part of their collections. But that’s not all. The designer knew how to use new textiles and make them a part of her own brand such as virgin wool, handwoven silk, and cotton, jacquard Tencel, corduroy, sateen cotton, silk chiffon, and organza which were used in various collections of hers. The vision of the brand and its main goal is to preserve local cultural heritage by re-interpreting Tunisian ancestral techniques and creating an interaction between clothes, cultures, and dialogue between Tunisian and Asian traditional garments.

4. Samym

Samym is not your typical Tunisian brand. It's a brand with a special African touch. Samym meaning “at the heart of things” in Arabic, is a Tunisian fashion brand specialized in African creations and is embracing our African origins through the use of specialized African fabric such as wax and Bogolan which is traditionally dyed with fermented mud and is a symbol of Malian Cultural Identity. But the overall objective and goal of this brand is to help Tunisians embrace our African origins, shed light on the beauty and uniqueness of African fabric (wax, Bogolan) as well as make African fashion more accessible to Tunisians mostly.
